Pay or Contest Bingham Tickets

Bingham No-Insurance Citations
No-insurance citations have a separate proof path. If the driver had insurance when cited, proof of liability insurance may be provided in person at the Magistrate Court windows, by email from the insurance company to kbacon@bingham.idcourts.gov, or by fax to (208) 782-3167. The county tells users to call (208) 782-3120 to confirm receipt.
If the driver did not have insurance at the time of citation, Idaho Transportation Department sends a letter explaining that SR-22 insurance must be obtained and an $85 fee must be paid to ITD to keep the driver's license active. For driving privilege questions, contact Idaho Transportation Department at (208) 334-8735. This is a driver-license issue, not just a Bingham County court payment issue.
Important: Paying a court citation does not by itself solve every license-status or SR-22 requirement handled by ITD.

Court Traffic vs Driver Record
The court traffic record and the state driver record are different files. The court file is held by Bingham Magistrate Court and iCourt. It answers what happened in the citation case. The state driver record is held by Idaho Transportation Department and answers license-history, status, and reportable driving-record questions. A court clerk may not be able to correct a driver-history issue that belongs to ITD.

Online driver records contain three years of driver license history. CDL Employer Information can contain complete driver license history, which may be more than three years. For original issue date or more history, the paper ITD request process may be needed.
